Concesse Nyirizakunze, or “Cony,” attends the University of San Francisco. She is majoring in architecture and community design, with plans to minor in communications. Last summer, Cony interned at Sustainable Harvest in Rwanda, where she learned about how important communication skills are in business.
Before joining SHE-CAN, Cony was incredibly active in her community—participating in debates, volleyball, and Girl Guiding (similar to the Girl Scouts). During her gap year, she launched a campaign against a disease called Tunga penetrans, giving basic hygiene materials and training to people living with the disease in her village.
We’re so happy to have Cony here with us in San Francisco, where she still enjoys reading, dancing and exploring new places. This summer, she is looking forward to getting an internship in San Francisco to learn more about architecture and urban planning.
